CONSUMER COMPLAINT NO. 157  OF  2020

AWARD

1.   Vide her separate statement already made on 09.11.2022, Ms.Rameet Bakshi, Counsel for OPs has stated that the parties have settled the matter amicably and as per settlement, the OPs have agreed to pay Rs.7000/- in lump sum to the complainant No.1 within four weeks failing which the OPs shall be liable to pay the aforesaid amount alongwith interest @ 9% p.a. from the date of filing of present consumer complaint and the outstanding amount against the bills of both the complainants shall also be waived off and the said settlement has been made as a goodwill gesture. Vide his separate statement already made on 09.11.2022, Dr.Deepak Jindal, Counsel for Complainants has admitted the statement of counsel for OPs and prayed that the complaint be disposed off in terms of aforesaid settlement in the National Lok Adalat on 12.11.2022.

2.   In view of the statement of the counsel for the parties and in terms of the settlement, the complaint stands disposed of by passing the following order:-

     (i)  OPs shall pay Rs.7000/- in lump sum to the complainant No.1 within four weeks from 09.11.2022.

     (ii) In case the aforesaid amount is not paid by the OPs within the stipulated period, then OPs shall be liable to pay the same alongwith interest @ 9% p.a. from the date of filing of present consumer complaint i.e. 20.03.2020    till its realization.

     (iii)OPs shall waive off the outstanding amount against   the bills of both the complainants.

3.   The award is accordingly passed.

4.   Certified copies of this order be sent to the parties free of cost. The file be consigned.
