Despite service, no one appears for the Respondent/Complainant.

Having heard learned Counsel for the Petitioner/Insurance Company and bearing in mind the fact that the amount of compensation awarded by the District Forum and confirmed by the State Commission is only Rs.30,075/-, which has been determined on non-standard basis because of delay in lodging the FIR for theft of the insured vehicle, viz., a motorcycle, we do not find it to be a fit case for exercise of revisional jurisdiction, though we find some substance in the contention by the learned Counsel that the order passed by the State Commission in First Appeal is not a very well-reasoned order.  However, we feel that having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and the admitted delay in informing the Insurance Company about the theft of the vehicle, the award of interest on the said amount of compensation is unwarranted.

Accordingly, the Revision Petition is partly allowed to the extent that the Petitioner/Insurance Company shall not be liable to pay interest to the Respondent/Complainant on the amount of compensation.

The Revision Petition stands disposed of in the above terms, with no order as to costs.
