By G. Yadunadhan, President: The case of the complainant in brief is that complainant entrusted Rs.6850/- to the opposite party for making aluminium doors and grills. Opposite party entered into an oral agreement, which is ready to finish the work within a month. After receiving the amount opposite party has not done any work so far. So complainant’s husband enquired about and opposite party agreed to done these works before 4.2.2007. Hence complainant returned by believing the words of the opposite party. After repeated demands, opposite party has not started the work. Hence complainant seeking relief against opposite party to return an amount of Rs.6850/-, which is collected from the complainant and also to pay a compensation of Rs.15,000/- with interest. After serving notice, opposite party called absent and set exparte. Complainant filed affidavit. Complainant was examined as PW1. No documentary evidence produced from the complainant. From the affidavit, complainant’s case is proved. Hence petition is allowed and the opposite party is directed to repay the amount of Rs.6850/- (rupees six thousand eight hundred and fifty only) realised from the complainant and also to pay a compensation of Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) to the complainant, with no cost.
