Heard. Sh. Jai Amarveer Singh alias Jai Amarbir Singh filed the present complaint under Consumer Protection Act against Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Ltd. etc. opposite parties with prayer to direct the opposite parties to release the insurance claim of Rs. 50,000/- alongwith compensation of Rs.20,000/- and any other relief to which complainant is entitled. Upon notice, counsel for opposite parties appeared and filed power of attorney and he authorized Sh. Deepinder Singh Advocate to make statement regarding compromise in the Forum and on 28.7.2016 Sh. Deepinder Singh Advocate made statement in the Forum that opposite parties offer to settle the claim of the complainant in the sum of Rs. 50,000/- as full and final settlement and payment will be made within one month from the date of order. Thereafter, Ld. counsel for complainant made statement that he has heard the statement of Sh. Deepinder Singh Advocate and agreed with the same and order may be passed accordingly. In view of the settlement between the parties, the complaint is allowed in terms of settlement between the parties and opposite parties are directed to pay Rs.50,000/- (Rs. Fifty thousand only) as insurance claim to the complainant. Opposite parties are directed to comply the order within one month from the date of receipt of copy of order. In case the opposite parties fail to pay awarded amount to the complainant within the period stated above, then the opposite parties shall be liable to pay interest on the awarded amount @ 9% per annum from the date of complaint till realization of the awarded amount. Copy order be supplied to the parties free of costs as per rules. File be consigned to record room.
