This Forum vide order dated 27.08.2012 accepted the complaint and awarded amount of Rs.3,42,000/- payable by the opposite party to the complainants in equal shares. This Forum further ordered that amount share of minor complainants Abhinav Malhotra and Taarish Malhotra be deposited in the shape of FDRs in Nationalized Bank and these minors shall be entitled to get their amount of FDRs on attaining their age of majority. Their amount so deposited in FDR's, be released on attaining their age of majority. An amount of Rs.1,14,687/- was deposited in the name of Abhinav Malhotra vide FDR in State Bank of India dated 23.01.2013 which matured on 23.01.2015 and this amount is lying with the State Bank of India now. The applicant/complainant Abhinav Malhotra has filed application along with his Birth Certificate and copy of Passport which shows that Date of Birth of Abhinav Malhotra is 15.10.1996 and as such, he has become major. Therefore, he requested for release of amount of FDR. These documents produced with the application i.e. Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar and Passport issued by Govt. of India fully prove that the Date of Birth of Abhinav Malhotra is 15.10.1996 and he has become major on 15.10.2014. Therefore, he is entitled to get released the amount deposited in the aforesaid FDR in his name. Therefore, it is ordered that this amount of Abhinav Malhotra deposited in the State Bank of India vide above said FRD be released to the applicant against proper receipt and verification. File be consigned to the record room.
