This case has been filed by Smt. Rita Devi w/o Shiv Kumar Jha r/o Kurwa Dudhani, Dumka town, P.S and District Dumka against the O.Ps (No   Jharkhand State Electricity Board through Electrical Executive Engineer, Electrical Supply Division, under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.

We have heard and perused the documents available on the record. After considering the same, we are satisfied that the complainant has established his version that a new meter was installed replacing the defective one on 28.09.2007 within the knowledge of the authority concerned of the O.P. It was verified to be as per norms of the department as w ell. The remarks appended on the petition of the complainant. It is established that the complainant had been pursuing the matter before the O.Ps for billing electric energy consumption as per meter reading after replacing the meter.

In the facts and circumstances aforesaid, we direct the O.P (J.S.E.B.) to get prepare revised bill on the basis of actual consumption as per meter reading from the date of installment of functioning meter i.e. from 28.09.2077. Any payment made by the complainant during the said period shall be adjusted in the revised bill. This will be done within one month by the O.P. A sum of Rs. 1000/- is awarded as coat of litigation including compensation which shall also be adjusted in the revised bill.

There shall be no order as to any other compensation in the facts and circumstances of the case.

The office is directed to supply a copy of the order to the parties of to their respective lawyers free of cost. The case is decided accordingly.
