Final Order / Judgement

The fact of the case is that the complainant Uday Krishna Saha filed a petition u/s. 12 of the Consumer Protection Act,1986 which was registered as Complaint Case No. 61/2017. The fact of the case is that the complainant is a bona fide consumer under the O.P. and the complainant bears the Consumer ID No. 342091995 under Chanchal Customer Care Centre. The complainant was very regular in payment of electric bills as per bill raised by the department. The meter of the complainant was burned in the year 2012 and the complainant informed the matter to the Chanchal Customer Care Centre and requested to install the new good meter after a long period. The O.P. No.3  i.e. Station Manager Chanchal Customer Care Centre changed the electric meter but thereafter the complainant received an inflated bill from the very beginning as such complainant requested the O.P. No.3  for correction of the bill.

The further case of the complainant is that the consumption of electricity by the consumer will be noted down as regards to the consumer of electricity in the yellow card which is provided by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Co.Ltd. Besides several requests the Chanchal Customer Care Centre did not rectify the bill as such there was deficiency of service. The evidence adduced by the complainant remains unchallenged.

So on considering the facts and circumstances the complainant has been able to prove the case ex parte.

C.F. paid is correct.

Hence, ordered that

the case be and the same is allowed ex parte against the O.Ps.

The O.Ps are directed to correct the electric bill for the year 2012 by issuing a fresh electric bill and the complainant is directed to pay the bill as raised by the O.P. if not deposited. No amount of compensation is awarded as because the complainant has not suffered any financial loss

Let a copy of this order be given to the complainant free of cost on proper application.
