Complainant’s case, in brief, is as follows :-
Complainant purchased a fixed deposit certificate of Rs.1,00,000/- from the O.ps. vide certificate no.351003232350 on 04/01/2012 and in terms of the said certificate, the complainant will get redemption value of Rs.2,61,200/- of the said certificate on 04/01/2020. After expiry of the redemption period, the complainant requested the O.p. no.1 to pay the redemption value of the certificate and he also sent a letter on 24/08/2018 to the O.ps. requesting them to pay the said amount of Rs.2,61,200/-. In spite receipt of the said letter, O.ps. did not pay the amount to the complainant. Hence the complaint praying for directing the O.ps. to pay the redemption amount of Rs.2,61,200/- with interest and for an order of compensation and cost.
O.ps. appeared in this case and they also filed a w.v. Subsequently the O.ps. did not appear for which the case was ordered to be heard ex-parte against them. Hence the ex-parte hearing.
