J U D G E M E N T
Bibekananda Pramanik, President – This consumer complaint under section 12 of the C.P. Act, 1986 has been filed by the complainant Md. Salauddin against the above named O.ps. alleging deficiency in service on their part.
Complainant’s case, in brief, is as follows :-
Complainant purchased a fixed deposit certificate of Rs.57,000/- from the O.ps. vide certificate no.705000680752 on 22/03/2017 and in terms of the said certificate, the complainant will get redemption value of Rs.63,130/- of the said certificate on 22/03/2018. After expiry of the redemption period, the complainant requested the O.p. no.1 to pay the redemption value of the certificate and he also sent a letter on 22/05/2018 to the O.ps. requesting them to pay the said amount of Rs.62,130/-. In spite receipt of the said letter, O.ps. did not pay the amount to the complainant. Hence the complaint praying for directing the O.ps. to pay the redemption amount of Rs.62,130/- with interest and for an order of compensation and cost.
O.ps. appeared in this case and they also filed a w.v. Subsequently the O.ps. did not appear for which the case was ordered to be heard ex-parte against them. Hence the ex-parte hearing.

Is the complainant entitled to get the reliefs, as prayed for?
DECISION WITH REASONS
To prove his case, the complainant has tendered his written examination-in-chief in evidence and he has also filed all relevant documents in support of his case.
We have done through the said evidence of the complainant and the documents filed by him and found that the complainant has fully corroborated his case of the petition of complaint and the documents filed by him also support the case of the complainant.
So, in view of the said evidence of the complainant, remaining unchallenged, it is held that the complaint’s case is proved and he is entitled to get the reliefs as prayed for.
Hence,
it is,
O R D E R E D
that the complaint case no. 228/2018 is allowed ex-parte with cost against both the O.ps.
O.ps. are jointly and severally directed to pay the complainant a sum of Rs.62,130/- with interest @6% per annum. O.ps. are further directed to pay Rs.10,000/- as compensation and Rs.5,000/- as litigation cost to the complainant.
All such payment shall be made by the O.ps. within two months from this date of order i.d. the complainant will be at liberty to put this order into execution.
Let a plain copy of this order be given to the complainant free of cost.
