The complainant obtained LIC for a sum assured of Rs.30,000/- vide policy No.582557760 dated 15.06.1990. The date of maturity of said policy is 15.06.2010. After submitting original policy bond the O.Ps did not pay the maturity value of sum assured Rs.30,000/-. Hence the complaint.

The O.P.No.1 & 2 filed evidence in shape of affidavit that the maturity amount of the LIC policy No. 582557760 was Rs.47,640/- and the delayed interest @9% P.A. is calculated for Rs.26,893/- out of which income tax is deducted Rs.5,379/- and the net payable amount is Rs. 21,514/-. Likewise, the survival amount was Rs.6,000/- and the delayed interest @9% P.A. is calculated for Rs.6,087/-, out of which income tax is deducted Rs.1,217/- and the net payable amount is calculated Rs.4,870/-. The net payable amount of delayed interest was Rs.26,384/- in favour of Sri Krishna Chandra Rath. The same amount was paid through a cheque bearing No. 038442 dated 21.01.2017 drawn on ICICI Bank. The O.P.No.1 has paid total amount due to the complainant Sri Krishna Chandra Rath for full and final settlement of the claim. Hence the O.P.No.1 prayed to drop the case.
Both parties did not attend the Commission since 10.05.2018 till today and not taken any steps in any point of time. After due process the case of the complainant has been solved. So the complainant probably does not want to proceed in this case any further. In view of above circumstances, the Commission feels to dispose of the case of the complaint.
Hence in the result, the present consumer complaint stands dismissed for non prosecution by the Complainant. No order as to cost.
This case is disposed of accordingly.
