          The complainant filed this case stating inter alia that one Shyamali Lahiri was the holder of the policy and during subsistence of the said policy the complainant became seriously ill and she approached to insurance company for providing her with cashless benefit, but the insurance company failed to provide the same for which the policy holder died. On the basis of the said fact the complainant being the elder sister of the deceased policy holder filed this case.  

          On perusal of the policy we find that the death of the policy holder took place on 23.11.17 and the policy was valid from 13.10.16 to 12.10.17. The complainant has stated that insurance company sent a letter to the policy holder stating that the policy will be continued on payment of the premium, but the complainant failed to produce any document that the policy holder paid any premium for continuation of the policy. Since the policy was not valid at the time of death of the policy holder, thereby we hold that the case filed by the complainant has got no merit and accordingly the same is to be dismissed.
