PER:   SRI SATISH KUMAR PANIGRAHI, PRESIDENT

The fact of the case in brief is that the complainant has filed this Consumer complaint Under Section 35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 alleging deficiency in service against the Opposite Parties  (in short O.Ps.) for redressal of her grievance before this Commission.

  1. The complainant is a bonafide consumer of TPSODL, Digapahandi since long has been paying the electricity bill amount every month regularly with a domestic electric connection in his house bearing consumer No. 333102180326. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she could not paid the electric bill for some month till July, 2021. She had been to the office of O.P.No.1 with a request to consider her genuine problem out of fear for disconnection of energy supply and she also ready to pay the actual consumption charges regularly. But the O.P.No.1 without issuing of notice and prior intimation have disconnected the power supply of the house in the month of March 2021. The complainant visited the office and many time requested the O.Ps to reconnect the power supply and allow her to pay the power charges in installment but they did not listen.  The service rendered by the O.Ps amounts to unfair trade practice, which is against the provisions of law and the opposite parties taken such steps only to put her into trouble and harassment. The complainant approached the O.Ps and made complaint for the revision of the bill by taking the present meter reading, so that she will pay the current bill amount. The complainant issued advocate notice on 12.11.2021 but all in vain. Alleging deficiency in service on the part of the O.Ps the complainant prayed to direct the O.Ps to reconnect the power supply to the house of the complainant and received the dues in installment basis in regular basis along with other reliefs as deemed fit in the interest of justice.
  2. Admitting the Complaint, the District Commission issued notice to the Opposite parties. And Mr. M.K.Mohapatra, Advocate filed Vakalatanama on behalf of O.Ps, but not filed any written version.  Hence the O.Ps declared exparte on dated 20.01.2023.
  3. On 20.10.2023 the complainant filed a petition/Memo that she settled the dispute with the O.Ps on 03.10.2023 amicably and out of court and settled the matter.  She is fully satisfied with the above settlement and she do not proceed to any further in the case and she wants to withdraw the case forthwith.

We heard the memo and memo is allowed. Hence the case is closed as withdrawn.

The interim order, if any pending with it, is disposed of in terms of above order.

A certified copy of this Judgment be provided to the respective parties free of cost as mandated by the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 or the copy of this order be downloaded from www.confonet.nic.in to treat same as copy supplied from this Commission.

The file is to be consigned to the record room along with a copy of this Judgment.
