We agree with the view taken by the State Commission.  Complaint filed by the petitioner was beyond the period of limitation.  Petitioner had purchased the car in September 1999 whereas the complaint was filed on 23.4.2007 after more than 7 years of the purchase of the car.  Under Section 24A of the Consumer Protection Act, complaint could be filed within two years of the arising of the cause of action.  In this case, as per petitioner’s own saying, the cause of action had arisen in the year 1999 itself, when the car started giving trouble.  The complaint filed on 23.4.2007 was, therefore, barred by limitation.  Dismissed.
