          The appeal has been called since morning but no one has appeared on behalf of the appellants. The order under challenge was passed by the District Forum in favour of the respondent, who filed the complaint as a consumer.  The absence of the appellants itself shows that they are not interested in pursuing the present appeal. The same is, therefore,  dismissed in default.

The sum of Rs.5,500/- deposited at the time of filing of the appeal along with interest which has accrued thereon, if any, shall be remitted by the registry to the respondent/complainant by way of a crossed cheque/demand draft after the expiry of 45 days of the sending of certified copy of the order to it.
