Sandeep Chahar-complainant, has come up in revision seeking issuance of direction to the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Rohtak (for short ‘the District Forum’) to dispose of the complaint expeditiously.

2.      The petitioner/complainant, filed complaint under Section 12 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (for short ‘the Act’) on March 7th, 2014. After service, the respondents/opposite parties put in appearance on April 24th, 2014 and thereafter the case was being adjourned for filing reply. The respondents filed reply on 18th January, 2016.

3.      The object and purpose of the act is to render simple, inexpensive and speedy remedy to the consumers. However, in this case it has taken nearly two years to file reply.

4.      Keeping in view the purpose and object of the enactment, it would be appropriate to direct the District Forum to dispose of the complaint within two months from the date of receipt of this order. It is ordered accordingly.

5.      A copy of this order be sent to the District Forum, Rohtak, forthwith.
