A complaint titled ‘Sumitra Devi and others Versus ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited and another’ was allowed by District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Faridabad (District Forum) vide order dated March 14th, 2016.
2. Aggrieved of the said order, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited-opposite parties (Insurance Company) filed appeal before this Commission. The Insurance Company vide order dated May 20th, 2016 deposited the entire amount awarded by the District Forum alongwith interest, that is, Rs.12,57,026/- before this Commission. By passing the order dated September 12th, 2017, this Commission accepted the appeal and ordered that statutory amount of Rs.25,000/- deposited at the time of filing the appeal be refunded to the Insurance Company (appellants).
3. By filing this application, Insurance Company has prayed that since the appeal has been accepted, the statutory amount and Rs.12,57,026/- lying deposited with this Commission be refunded to it.
4. In view of this, the statutory amount of Rs.25,000/- and Rs.12,57,026/- lying deposited with this Commission be refunded to the applicants against proper receipt and identification in accordance with rules.
5. Disposed of accordingly.
