The Complainant being posted at Ratua after superannuation settled at Bankura and he applied to O.P. No.1/Ratua Sub Post Office for encashment and getting the matured payment through their local Post Office i.e. Sonamukhi Post Office/O.P. No.2 but the said application was not considered by O.P. No.1. O.P. No.2 however forwarded the application to O.P. No.1 for verification report vide letter dated: 03/11/2017 but due to non-receipt of the verification report from O.P. No.1 none of the Complainants has received the maturity value of the aforesaid KVPs. Hence this case for necessary relief.
O.P. No.2 & O.P. No.3 contested the case by filing a joint written version stating therein that O.P. No.1 is ready for disbursement of all the maturity value of KVPs in favour of the Complainants subject to production of original KVPs and non-drawal certificate from O.P. No.2 Post Office.
-: Decision with reasons: -
Having regard to the facts of the case, submission, contention and documents from both sides the Commission finds that in order to get back the matured value of the above mentioned KVPs the Complainants are to obtain non-drawal certificates from O.P. No.2/Post Office and to produce the same along with original KVPs to O.P. No.1/Post Office.
With this observation the case is disposed of on contest by directing the Complainants to proceed accordingly and O.P. No.1 & O.P. No.2 are directed to complete the disbursement process of all the matured KVPs in favour of the Complainants within two months from this date I/D law will take its own course.
Both parties be supplied copy of this Judgement free of cost.
