Order dated 20.09.2017, Shri Sundarlal Behera, President.
The brief facts of the complaint case is that, the complainant has taken electrical connection with having Consumer No. 417124020108 and he was paying the electricity bills regularly to the O.P. The O.P served a wrong bill amounting Rs.4,555/- only for the month of August’2015. A new meter was installed which was found to be defective about which the complainant approach to the O.P.No.1 on dtd.01.10.2015. The complainant also approach before the O.P.No.2 and as per the order of O.P.No.2 he has paid Rs.13,503/- only but the problem of defective meter still continued, hence this case.
On service of notice, the O.P appeared and filed Written Version through his counsel admitting the facts of electricity connection and submitted that the complainant is a consumer vide consumer No. 417124020108. A new meter installed in the premises of complainant in the month of August’2015 and reading found was 687 units. The said meter is running in good condition and is OK. The complainant has rightly paid as per the order of GRF but has denied to pay the monthly bills and as per the above the O.P prayed for dismissal of the case.
Heard from the parties, gone through the case and materials available on record. The new meter installed in the month of August’2015 and in the same month the meter reading was 687 units. The complainant is a domestic consumer of electricity which the copy has also submitted and consumption of 687 units for a domestic consumer in a month is very hard to believe. On the other hand the O.P also submitted that the said electric meter bearing No. WES 09604 is duly tested at laboratory but fail to file any such laboratory documents to prove the same.
On the above mentioned observations and analysis the O.P.No.1 is found to be deficient in their service, hence we allowed the complaint petition and directed the O.P.No.1 to install a new defect free electric meter in the premises of complainant within 30 days from the date of receipt of this order.
Accordingly the case in hand is disposed of.
Order pronounced in the open court today the 20th day of September’ 2017. Free copy of this order be communicated to the concerned parties as per rule.
