ORDER BY HON’BLE PRESIDENT- MR. P.K. PADHI:
JUDGMENT
Complainant has filed this consumer complaint U/s.35 of C.P. Act, 2019 seeking following reliefs;
“Direct the opposite parties to supply the electricity connection to the premises of complainant and pay compensation for harassment and mental agony”.
Opposite parties were sent notice by Regd. Post on 19.5.2022 but did not respond and set ex-parte on 21.3.2023 after adjourning the case for 10 times.
The simple grievance of complainant is for a new connection for which he has paid the amount i.e. Rs.3,910/- and no response from opposite parties.
Electricity being an essential service cannot be denied to any consumer unless there is adverse material against the consumer.
In view of the facts stated above we direct the opposite parties to supply the new connection within 15 days of receipt of the order if there is no other impediment to supply new electricity connection. With the aforesaid observation and direction the consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.
Pronounced in the open Commission on this 11th July,2024.
