The record is put up today on the strength of one application filed by the complainant’s side along with an affidavit seeking interim relief regarding reconnection of electric line of the complainant in respect of submersible pump, being consumer ID No. 5220385000 under the OP/WBSEDCL. This petition also served to the OP side.
This petition is taken up for hearing treating the same as M.A. Case No. 14/2023. Heard. Ld. Advocates for both sides. That OP disconnected the electric service connection in the SMP of the complainant on 22/03/2023 and demanding Rs. 212003/- through notice dated 23/03/2023 which is exorbitant. Ld. Advocate for the OP side submits that the complainant deposited Rs. 30,858/- on 21/01/2020 in respect of such consumer Id and thereafter no payment is made by the complainant till to day. The complainant requested the OP to regenerate the electric bill which has been shown as OSD Rs. 212003/- under norms “without meter”, but they did not pay nay need on the request of the complainant. It is the submission of the Ld. Advocate for the complainant that the complainant is engaged in cultivation/agriculture and for that purpose he took electric connection for irrigation.
Considering of all aspects and in perusal of the relevant papers/materials on case record we are of the view that the prayer seeking interim relief is required to be allowed with some terms and condition in the following manner, hence it is allowed in part.

The petition dated 28/03/2023 filed by the complainant for restoration of his electric connection i.e. M.A. Case No. 14/2023 is allowed on contest. No costs.
The complainant is directed to deposit a sum equivalent to 20% OSD billed amount of Rs. 2,12,003/- within 15 (Fifteen) days from the date of this order in the concerned office of the OP/WBSEDCL and thereafter complainant shall be going on depositing the current electric bills month by month/quarterly as would be sent from the office of OP in respect of this service connection being consumer ID No. 5220385000, deposited amount will be adjusted with the electric bill of the complainant. After deposit of such amount by the complainant the OP/WBSEDCL is directed to restore electricity in the above noted service ID No. of the complainant within 3 (three) days therefrom positively. OP is also directed to issue bill month by month/quarterly without generating the challenged bill/notice i.e. dated 23/03/2023.
Thus the M.A. is disposed of.
Fix. 03/05/2023 for filing evidence-in-chief by the complainant.
