Order No.37

Dated:06-02-2023

Hazira is filed on behalf of the Complainant through Advocate.

No step is taken by the O.P.

The case is fixed for argument.

After hearing argument from the Complainant the Commission proceeds to dispose of the case as hereunder: -

The Complainant’s case is that he is a BPL Electricity consumer under O.P. having service connection No.200145100 and consumer No.H022440. The Complainant regularly paid electricity charges according to the Electricity bills received from time to time but the Complainant received electric bills dated: 12-03-2014 for Rs.1,629/- and the bill dated: 23-06-2014 for Rs.97,362/- which are not in consistence with the previous electric bills.

                                                                                                                                                                              Contd………p/2

The Complainant has therefore approached this Commission for appropriate relief with regard to the aforesaid two electric bills.

The O.P. contested the case by filing written version denying all the material allegations  made in the complaint.

The Commission has gone through the disputed bills and other previous bills produced for the purpose of comparison wherefrom it transpires that the disputed two bills dated: 12-03-2014 and dated: 23-06-2014 are somewhat illogical in comparison to the average consumption and those two bills should be revised to a reasonable extent considering the consumption and the average payment of bill amount. The prayer of the Complainant is allowed upon a reasonable guess work.

Hence it is ordered……

That the case be and the same is allowed in part on contest against the O.P.

The Electric bills dated: 12-03-2014 and dated: 23-06-2014 stand revised to the extent of Rs.500/-and Rs.5,000/- respectively. The O.P. is directed to send revised Bill to that effect and upon receipt of the same the Complainant will pay the same within three months thereof and after payment the electric connection of the complainant be restored if disconnected.

Both parties be supplied copy of this Order free of cost.
