ORDER

Shri Sudip Majumder- President-in-Charge.

The record is put up today on the strength of one application been filed by the complainant and stated that he had already filed a petition dated 13/03/2024 i.e. on the date of filing for restoration his electricity connection.

Both parties are present. The petition dated 13/03/2024 filed by the complainant for restoration of

his electricity line is taken up for hearing treating the same as M.A. Case No. 74/2024.

The OP/WBSEDCL has contested the application without filing any written objection.

Heard both sides. Objection raised by the OP side.

It appears from the case record that the OP issued an electric bill dated 07/03/2024 amounting of Rs. 18,966/- to the complainant i.e. included the outstanding of challenged bill.

In this juncture without going into the merit of the case we think Electricity is most essential part of the human life in present day situation. Moreover, the complainant is depending upon the present electricity connection to run submersible pump situated at his agricultural land i.e. for his livelihood.

 

Hence, we think prayer is to be allowed.

Hence, it is,

                        ORDERED,

                                                the petition dated 13/03/2024 filed by the complainant for restoration of his line i.e. M.A. Case No. 74/2024 is allowed on contest. No cost.

The complainant is directed to pay Rs. 5,000/- to the OP/WBSEDCL within 15 days from this date of order. And the rest amount of the bill will be adjusted at the time of adjudication of this case.

 The OP/WBSEDCL is directed to restore electricity connection being Consumer ID No. 502289428 of the complainant within 2 days after the receiving the amount of Rs. 5,000/- (Five thousand only) from the complainant, positively. OP is also directed to issue bill month by month/quarterly without generating the challenged bill or outstanding bill.

The complainant is also directed to pay the current bill month by month/quarterly in respect of this service connection.

Thus the M.A. Case No. 74/2024 is disposed of.

Fix.  15/07/2024 for filing  evidence-in-chief by the complainant.

Copy of this order be supplied to the parties each at free of cost.
