Hazira is filed on behalf of the Complainant through Advocate.

No step is taken by the O.P.

The case is fixed for Ex-parte hearing.

The Complainant’s case is that he applied for permanent electric connection to his Submersible Pump (SMP) service with the O.P. on 28-03-2022 and deposited all the requisite charges and fees including Quotation money of Rs.5,133/- but the O.P. failed to take any steps for installation of the electric connection for the reason best known to the O.P. Hence this case.

Having regard to the facts of the case, submission and materials on record the Commission finds that the Complainant has complied and observed all the legal formalities in order to get new electric connection to his SMP service but without assigning any cogent reason the O.P. has failed to do so.

             Electricity is an essential service and the O.P. must take into consideration this fact while dealing with any application for electric connection. The Complainant has however not been able to establish the ground for non-supply of electric connection on the part of the O.P. Be that as it may the Complainant is entitled to get electric connection to his SMP service in accordance with law subject to observance of all legal formalities and payment of outstanding dues and penalty.                                                                                                                        

Hence it is ordered……

That the case is disposed of by directing the O.P. for installation of electric connection to the

SMP service of the Complainant within one month from this date subject to payment of requisite dues and penalty and observance of all legal formalities in default the O.P. has to suffer compensation of Rs.10,000/- in accordance with law payable to the Complainant.

Both parties be supplied copy of this Order free of cost.
