AWARD

1.   Vide his separate statement recorded on 08.05.2024, Sh.Kamaljeet Mehta, Chief Manager of OP No.3 State Bank of India, Punjab and Haryana High Court Branch, Chandigarh, has stated that the matter has been settled between the parties amicably and as per settlement, the OP No.3 shall pay Rs.32,000/- to the complainant within a period of 10 days from 08.05.2024 in full and final settlement of the present matter, failing which the OP No.3 shall be liable to pay the aforesaid amount alongwith interest @ 9% p.a. from the date of filing of present consumer complaint. It has been further stated by Sh.Kamaljeet Mehta that the aforesaid amount shall be credited in the saving bank account of complainant i.e. 55024598118 in State Bank of India. Vide his separate statement recorded on 08.05.2024, Sh.Sandeep Bhardwaj, Counsel for Complainant has admitted the aforesaid statement of Sh.Kamaljeet Mehta, Chief Manager of OP No.3 Bank and prayed that the complaint be disposed of in terms of aforesaid settlement in National Lok Adalat.

2.   In view of the statements of the parties and in terms of the settlement, the complaint stands disposed of by passing the following order:-

  1. OP No.3 shall pay Rs.32,000/- to the complainant within a period of 10 days from 08.05.2024 and the aforesaid amount shall be credited in the saving bank account of complainant i.e. 55024598118 in State Bank of India.
  2. In case OP No.3 fails to pay the aforesaid amount within the stipulated period, then OP No.3 shall be liable to pay the same alongwith interest @ 9% p.a. from the date of filing of present consumer complaint i.e. 18.10.2022 till the payment is made.

3.   The award is accordingly passed.

4.   Certified copies of this order be sent to the parties free of cost. The file be consigned.
