Both parties are absent. This is an old pending case filed in the year, 2001 against  the order dated 18-01-2001 passed by the District Forum, Haflong in Case No. 4/2000.

              The District Forum allowed the complaint filed by the respondent herein awarding compensation to the tune of Rs. 40,000/-, directing the appellant to pay the compensation. There is a delay in filing the appeal and therefore, an application for condonation of delay has also been filed along with the appeal. After filing of this appeal along with the aforesaid application for condonation of delay, the appellant remained absent since 21-7-2001. Notice issued to the respondent herein has also been received without service. No fresh steps of notice was taken, since the appellant remained absent.

              In view of the above, we are of the opinion that the appellant is not interested to proceed with the appeal. Therefore, the appeal is dismissed and disposed of accordingly.
