The case is taken up for hearing of Review Application filed u/s 40 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 by the Petitioner/Bank.

Heard both sides.

Review Application has been filed against the impugned order dated: 22/11/2023 passed by this Commission in CC/55/2013 directing the Petitioner/Bank to pay to the Complainant Rs.17,11,007/- with interest together with compensation of Rs.2,50,000/-.

Petitioner/Bank has complied with the said order by payment of the decretal amount of Rs.17,11,2007. Main grievance of the Petitioner/Bank is the rate of interest imposed by the impugned order. The Commission however does not consider it as a good ground of review but both sides at the time of hearing have urged the Commission to reduce the load of accrued interest to some extent and considering the prayer of the parties and the fact of the case the Commission allows the review application by directing the Petitioner/Bank to pay the further amount of Rs.17 Lakh towards satisfaction of the award within a month from this date in default law will take its own course.

Review Application is accordingly disposed of with modification of the order dated: 22/11/2023.

Both parties be supplied the copy of this order.
