            Complainant an applicant for electric connection for agricultural purpose filed this complaint seeking an order against opposite parties to get her electric connection.  According to complainant she applied for electricity connection and remitted necessary charges on 20-04-09 & 12-5-09 to the bore well dug for irrigation purpose.  But opposite party has not provided the connection so far.  As a result she could not irrigate the areacanut gardens and most of the plants became devastated.  Hence the complaint.

2.            According to opposite party complainant applied for obtaining service connection to her pump shed for agricultural purpose on 20-04-09.  The connection is not provided since her priority is not reached.

3.         The counsels for the complainant and opposite parties heard.  Exts A1 to A5 marked on the side of complainant.

4.         The world has undergone tremendous changes after the globalisation and liberalization.  Those days are gone when people were expected  to wait  in long queues to get their essential service connections like water, electricity, gas telephone etc.  When the people are facing the ill effects of globalisation and liberalization at one end, they are equally eligible to get its fruits also.  It is diplorable that the opposite parties are unable to say even the possible date on which they can provide electricity connection to the complainant.  The K.S.E. Board should rise to the occasion and there shall be no applicants waiting for electricity connection indefinitely.  So it is trite to keep an application for electric connection indefinitely and it amounts to deficiency in service. 

            Therefore the complaint is allowed and opposite parties are directed to provide electric connection to the pump house of the complainant on or before 31^st December 2009.  Failing which the opposite parties shall pay a compensation of Rs.25,000/- to the complainant.
