Presented by Sri Sadananda Tripathy, Member.

  1. The case of the Complainant is that the Complainant had opened a policy in SBI Life Insurance in which they told on opening of Rs. 5,00,000/- policy, the Complainant will get Rs. 2577 monthly return. This policy was opened in the name of his mother Late Puspalata Dash and the Complainant is the nominee of this policy. After expiry of mother on 6th Nov, 2023, the Complainant had withdrawn the money. The Complainant got Rs. 2577 monthly properly to his account but from his principal amount they cut Rs. 10,063/- and the Complainant got Rs. 4,89,937 which was not told by the OP earlier to the Complainant.
  2. The OP is set ex-parte.
  3. From the records and evidences, it is observed that the OP debited/cut Rs. 10,063/- without any information from the principal amount of the Complainant which was deposited earlier by the Complainant. Hence deficiency in service found against the OP. Accordingly it is ordered.

ORDER

The case is disposed of on merit. The O.P is directed to refund Rs. 10,063/- and Rs.15,000/- towards financial loss, mental agony and harassment as compensation and towards cost & litigation expenses of the petition to the Complainant within 30 days from the date of order, failing which the amount will further carry with 9% interest per annum till realization to the complainant.

Order pronounced in the open Court today on 22nd day of Oct, 2023.

Free copies of this order to the parties are supplied.
