            The case of the complainant is Sri.N.Prasanna Kumar is that as per the request of opposite parties the complainant deposited `25,000/- as fixed deposit for 6 months with the opposite parties Society.  On maturity of the deposit when the complainant approached opposite party No.1 the marketing society, it was seen closed and  on enquiry  it is revealed that the society closed long back and opposite parties are on leave.  Hence the complaint for necessary relief.

2.         Opposite parties remained absent inspite of receipt of notice sent by registered post.  The opposite parties had to be set exparte.

3.         Complainant examined as PW1 and Ext.A1 marked.  Ext.A1 is the fixed deposit receipt dated 23-09-2010  for `25,000/- deposited for a period of 6 months  with maturity date 23-03-2011.  After completion of 6 months when the complainant approached opposite parties society it is seen closed and on enquiry the complainant came to know that the society closed long back and the office bearers are on leave.

4.         The complainant has every right to get back the fixed deposit with interest on maturity of the deposit. The complainant deposited the amount in a co-operative marketing society registered with Co-op Registrar and governed by Co-operative Societies Acts and rules which ordinary people trust.   We rely Ext.A1 document as true and genuine document.

            In the result, complaint is allowed and the opposite parties are directed to refund the fixed deposit of `25,000/-(with 8% interest) from 23-09-2010 to till date of payment and cost of `1000/- within 30 days from the date of receipt of this order.  Failing which interest shall be charged @ 12%  from the date of complaint till payment.
