Final Order / Judgement

ORDER BY HON’BLE PRESIDENT- MR. P.K. PADHI:

                                                                                         JUDGMENT

            Complainant has filed this consumer complaint U/s.12 of C.P. Act, 1986 seeking following reliefs;

            “Direct the opposite parties to reduce the excesses bill and revise the bill as correct and not to disconnect the power supply to the premises of the complainant bearing consumer No.IJSI-00226”.

            The brief fact of the case is that the complainant was a commercial consumer under the opposite parties and consuming electric energy and paying the electric dues regularly. As on 30.6.2019 as per meter reading 1160 unit per month was the consumption but all of a sudden opposite parties supplied an electric bill on 05.8.2019 for the period 01.7.2019 to 31.7.2019 and demanded Rs.33,796/- for 6810 unit, which is highly deference from actual consumption units per month. The complainant put forth his grievance in written but the opposite parties refused to accept the same rather they supply disconnection notice demanding illegal amount to the complainant.

            Opposite parties were sent Regd. Notice on 18.01.2020 but they have not filed any written version.

            The complainant himself admits that he is a commercial consumer and there is no averment that he is earning his livelyhood from the said connection. There is no ground stated on which ground the electricity charges to be deducted by this Commission and there is no material on which this Commission will direct to reduce the bill. Both parties are long absent.

            We therefore dispose of the consumer complaint directing the complainant to make an exhausting application stating the grounds for which he seeks relaxation and submit the same to the opposite parties and if the same is filed within 30 days from the date of order then it is to be decided by opposite parties within 15 days. With the aforesaid observation and direction consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.
