Final Order / Judgement

ORDER BY HON’BLE PRESIDENT- MR. P.K. PADHI:

                                                                                       JUDGMENT

            Complainant has filed this consumer complaint U/s.12 of C.P. Act, 1986 seeking following reliefs;

            “Direct the opposite parties to revise the arrear dues and not disconnect the power supply to the premises of the complainant bearing consumer No.04214106”.

            The brief fact of the case is that, the complainant has been consuming electric energy since long by paying the electric dues regularly but after death of his grandfather and father, the complainant consume electric current and from 1999, the meter of the complainant has been damaged due to super cyclone and the opposite parties collect their electric dues on average basis and on March, 2019 the opposite parties install the meter and collect electric bill as per meter reading. During the time of average period the opposite parties collect their electric bill from complainant higher amount from actual consumption units per month from 1999 to 03/2019 and excess amount impose illegally and impose penalty Rs.50/- after completion of two months by opposite parties and also threatened to disconnect the electric line.

            Notice to opposite parties issued on 03.01.2020 but did not appear and set ex-parte on 13.5.2022.

            In view of the facts and circumstances of the case we direct the opposite parties to install a new meter and on the basis of the average reading of six months the bill shall be recalculated and to be paid by the complainant. With the aforesaid observation and direction the consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.
