ORDER BY HON’BLE PRESIDENT- MR. P.K. PADHI:

                                                                                        JUDGMENT

            Complainant has filed this consumer complaint U/s.12 of C.P. Act, 1986 seeking following reliefs;

            “Direct the opposite parties to revise the arrear dues and waive out the meter rent which is illegally imposed to the complainant by opposite parties and collect the current bill from the complainant in every month as per meter reading and pay Rs.5,000/- towards cost and compensation”.

            The brief fact of the case is that, the father of the complainant was a domestic consumer under the opposite parties vide consumer No.503503113277 since 1987 and after death of father, complainant used the electric current and regularly pays the bill to the opposite parties as per meter reading. At the time of connection of lien the complainant has purchased the meter and also deposited the meter testing fees and the meter was installed and no other mew meter installed in the premises of the complainant till date except said meter but it is strange that a sum of Rs.15/- towards meter rent has been imposed against the complainant since installation of meter. On 20.12.2019 opposite parties issued a notice illegally demanding payment of Rs.6,609/- and threatened to disconnect the power supply to the premises.

            Notice to opposite parties have issued by Regd. Post with AD on 14.02.2020 but opposite parties did not appear and set ex-parte on 13.5.2022.

            Except the bill we have no document. Counsel for complainant is also long absent for which we dispose of this case directing the complainant to make one application within 45 days from the date of order to opposite parties to consider his grievance and the opposite parties shall consider his grievance as permissible under the rules. With the aforesaid observation and direction the consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.
