ORDER

JUSTICE V.K. JAIN, PRESIDING MEMBER

This revision petition is directed against the order of the State Commission dated 29.09.2015 whereby the said Commission allowing the complaint which had earlier been dismissed by the District Forum, directed the petitioner to provide a domestic connection to the complainant within one month.  The arrears outstanding against the complainant were quashed and he was also awarded compensation quantified at Rs.50,000/-.

2.      When this petition came up for admission hearing on 03.3.2016, the learned counsel for the petitioner stated that considering that the demand was very old, he would not be challenging the impugned order to the extent the said order relates to the demand but he had serious issues on the award of compensation. Therefore, a limited notice was issued to the respondent, as to why the order of the State commission, to the extent it directs payment of compensation and also directs issue of fresh connection, be not set aside.

3.      The learned counsel for the complainant states, on instructions, that he would have no objection to the direction for payment of compensation being set aside so long as electricity is provided to the complainant.  In view of his statement, the direction of the State Commission for payment of compensation to the complainant is set aside.  With the aforesaid modification, the rest of the order passed by the State Commission is affirmed.  The connection shall be released to the complainant / respondent within four weeks from today.

The revision petition stands disposed of accordingly.
