The above mentioned petitions pending before us relate to heft of Electricity In view of the order passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court in U.P. Power Corporation Ltd. and Ors. Vs. Anis Ahmed (Civil Appeal No. 5466 of 2012) decided on 01.07.2013, the complaints filed in the present cases before the District Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, are not maintainable. Consequently, the consumer complaints filed by respondents/ complainants before the District Forum are also not maintainable. Accordingly, present revision petitions filed by the petitioners stand allowed and complaints filed by the respondents before the District Forum stand dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the respondents to seek appropriate remedy available to them before the appropriate Forum. Dasti.
