The complainant Naba Kumar Sarkar filed the instance case against the opposite party stating that he was selected as a contender KAUN BANEGA CRORE PATI quiz competition. The complainant on different dates paid lump sum amount of money on verbal assurance of the opposite parties on varies dates.

Nowhere in his petition complainant did he mention, that he purchased any goods or higher any services against such payment made by him. In such case, the complainant does not come under the definition of consumer as enumerated in Section (2)(7)(i) of the Consumer Protection Act 2019.

Hence the instance case is not admitted and dismissed.
