One Jagpal, husband of the respondent no.1 and father of respondents no.2-4 died due to electrocution when he came in contact with the live electric loose wires.  Aggrieved by this, complainants/respondents filed the complaint before the District Forum.

          District Forum allowed the complaint and directed the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.1 Lac by way of compensation to the respondents.

          Aggrieved by the order passed by the District Forum, petitioner filed the appeal before the State Commission, which has been dismissed by the impugned order.

          The fora below have relied upon an earlier decision of this Commission reported in “IV (2008) CPJ 139 (NC) C.G.M., P & O, NPDCL & ORS. VS.Koppu Duddarajam & Anr.”, wherein it has been held that in such circumstances, the consumer fora have the jurisdiction to grant the compensation.  In view of decision of this Commission in the aforementioned case, present revision petition is dismissed.
