ORDER

President:  C.K Chaturvedi

In this short complaint, the wife who with her husband Inder Mohan Taneja was beneficiary of the mediclaim policy, was disappointed when the OP despite claiming insurance premium since 2007 rejected even a small claim of Rs.3,000/-incurred on the treatment of her husband. He requested the insurance company to delete her wife’s name from the policy and sought refund of premium.

It is alleged that they had paid Rs.8,433/-for two years from 26.12.2009 to 25.12.11.  The OP Company deleted the name of Complainant on the request of her husband, and returned Rs.2,184/- after Pro-Rata deduction for the period already gone by. The complainant protested and sought details of deductions which have been explained to her and in the reply filed in the Forum in reply to the complaint.

In our considered view, we have in the complaint filed by her husband has considered the whole matter out of which this complaint arises as a sequel and have taken a view to award punitive compensation. However, since OP has explained all the deductions no deficiency is made out against the OP in making Pro-Rata deductions from the premium as per rules. The complaint is dismissed

File be consigned to record room.

Copy of the order be sent to the parties free of cost.

Pronounced in open Court on 24.02.2015.
