We have heard learned counsel for the parties for some time. We are happy to note that during the course of hearing, Counsel for both the parties have agreed for an amicable settlement of the dispute, giving rise to the present Revision Petitions. According to the said settlement, the Complainant, namely, Mr. Dhanna Singh, will be entitled to receive a lump-sum amount of ₹75,000/- from the Opposite Party, in full and final settlement of his claim in his complaint. It is stated that a sum of ₹26,500/- has already been received by the Complainant from the Opposite Party. In view of the above, we dispose of both the Revision Petitions with a direction that the Opposite Party shall pay to the Complainant a further sum of ₹48,500/- within two weeks from today. On payment of the said amount, the complaint shall stand dismissed. We clarify that the Opposite Party shall not be liable to deposit any amount in the Consumer Welfare Fund, as has been directed by the State Commission. Both the Revision Petitions stand disposed of in the above terms, with no order as to costs. |
