2.      The prayer made in the amended complaint by the complainant is for issuing of directions to the opposite parties to refund the sum of Rs.8,36,923/-deposited by him; to pay Rs.1,00,000/-, as compensation for the unnecessary harassment, mental tension, physical and financial loss caused to him; and Rs.15,000/-, as litigation expenses along with interest at the rate of 18% per annum.

3.      The total amount so claimed by the complainant is less than Rs.20 lakhs and, as such, the complaint  lies  only before the appropriate District Forum. The same is rejected accordingly without prejudice to the rights of the complainant to approach the appropriate Forum.
