This complaint has been preferred by the complainant alleging deficiency in service on the part of the opposite parties for the delay in repairing the washing machine in question. Admittedly during the

proceedings in this Forum the 1st opposite party manufacturer rectified the defects of the machine to the satisfaction of the complainant. The learned counsel for the complainant requested to extend the warranty for a further period of one year, since the machine became defunct during the warranty period .

2. Heard the learned counsel for the complainant and representative of the 1st opposite party. It appears that the request of the complainant is genuine and legally sustainable especially since prima-facie there is deficiency in service on the part of the opposite parties. However we think that the extension of warranty for a period of 6 months from the date of redelivery of the washing is enough to mitigate the agony of the complainant.

3. Accordingly we partly allow the complaint and direct that the 1st opposite party shall extend the warranty of the washing machine for a further period of 6 months from the date of redelivery of the machine after its repair. The 1st opposite party shall issue the warranty in black and white to the complainant within 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Pronounced in the open Forum on this the 14th day of August 2014
