ORDER

Today is fixed for admission hearing. Complainant files hazira through his Ld. Advocate. Complainant also present himself. Heard, perused the complaint and documents. It appears to us that prima facie a case has been made out against the Ops.

Let, the case be admitted.

Complainant files requisite upon OP.

Issue summons/notice accordingly.

B.C. to do the needful.

Another  petition dated 29/02/2024 filed by the complainant for restoration of his electricity line is taken up for hearing treating the same as M.A. Case No. 33/2024.

Heard Ld. Advocate for the complainant.

It is the submission of the complainant that the OP issued an electric bill dated 05/10/2023 amounting of Rs. 2,30,989/- which is an exorbitant bill.

Perused the petition. Considered. It is the submission of the complainant and prays for passing an order directing the OP to for restoration of his electricity line being Consumer ID No. 501453664.

We think ends of justice would be met up if the OP/WBSEDCL directing to restore electricity connection of the complainant and complainant pays the current electric bill month by month/quarterly in respect of this service connection.

In this juncture without going into the merit of the case we think Electricity is most essential part of the human life in present day situation. Moreover, the complainant is depending upon the present electricity connection to run submersible pump situated at his agricultural land i.e. for his livelihood

Hence, we think prayer is to be allowed.

Hence, it is,

                        ORDERED,

                                                the petition dated 29/02/2024 filed by the complainant for restoration of his line i.e. M.A. Case No. 33/2024 is allowed on without contest. No cost.

The complainant is directed to pay the amount of Rs. 40,000/- (Forty thousand only) before the OP office within 10 days from this date of order.

The OP/WBSEDCL is directed to restore electricity connection being Consumer ID No. 501453664 of the complainant within 2 days after receiving the aforesaid amount from the complainant. OP is also directed to issue bill month by month/quarterly without clubbing the challenged bill or outstanding bill.

The complainant is also directed to pay the current bill month by month/quarterly in respect of this service connection.

Thus the M.A. Case No. 33/2024 is disposed of.

Fix.  08/04/2024 for S/R, appearance and W/V from/by OP. Interim order will be effected till the date.

Copy of this order be supplied to the parties each at free of cost.
