Consideration on admission of complaint made.

Complainant approached this Forum for redressal of his grievance with the averments that he is Lawyer by profession and he had been engaged by the opposite parties for solemnizing their marriage and preparing marriage documents and a fee of Rupees 15,000/- was agreed to be paid to the complainant by the opposite parties. The opposite parties did not pay the fee to the complainant, hence present complaint.

But, this Forum finds no relationship of Consumer and Service Provider between the parties the present complaint, because at the time of execution of agreement for getting solemnized the marriage of opposite parties, it was the opposite parties who had hired the services of the complainant and became Consumer, whereas, the complainant had paid his services being Lawyer to the opposite parties and became Service Provider. Therefore, by way of this the complainant does not fall within the definition of Consumer as defined under the Act. Hence, the complaint in hand is not maintainable before this Forum and the same is dismissed. The file after registration and needful be consigned to the Record Room.
