By Smt. Padmini Sudheesh, President: <br /> <br /> The case of complainant is that, she had deposited a sum of Rs.50,000/- with the respondent firm on 19.8.04 with 16% interest. It got matured on 19.8.06. On maturity the complainant had requested the amount, but not returned. It was come to know that the firm is not functioning. Till date the amount is not returned. Hence this complaint. <br /> <br /> 2. Respondents were declared exparte.<br /> <br /> 3. To prove the case petitioner has filed affidavit and one document, which is marked as Ext. P1. <br /> <br /> 4. According to the complainant she is entitled for the deposited amount with interest, compensation and costs.<br /> <br /> 5. There is no contrary evidence.<br /> <br /> 6. In the result, complaint is allowed and the respondents are directed to return Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) to the complainant with interest at the rate of 16% per annum from 19.8.06 till realization. Further directed to give Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) towards costs to the complainant.
