This order arises out of petition filed by the Complainant praying to drop the proceedings and for extension of warranty period for another one year from today, as the O.Ps agreed to  replace the defective mobile handset in question by a new one. O.P.No.2 is present and produced new mobile hand set having IMEI No.354227062429403. Heard from both sides. Since the Complainant does not want to proceed further with the case in view of amicable settlement of the dispute between the parties, we have no hesitation to drop the proceedings. Accordingly, the petition filed by the Complainant is allowed. However, when the Complainant has been debarred to use the set for about 6 months due to its defectiveness and prayed for extension of warranty period of 1(one) year from day, it would meet the ends of justice if the O.Ps be directed to extend the warranty for 6(six) months only from today. Accordingly, the case is dropped on compromise with a direction to O.Ps for extension of warranty period of 6(six) month against mobile hand set bearing IMEI No. 354227062429403 from today.
