According to the complaint, brief facts are that the complainant had running Pharmaceutical business under the name & style of M/s Vaishnavi Pharma and earns a good reputation in his business. On 23.4.2014 complainant visited the office of opposite party No.1 and handed over a parcel for the purpose of sending the same through courier. Said parcel was containing valuable medicines worth Rs.10,370/-, on this opposite party charged Rs.80/- from the complainant and issued a cash receipt dated 23.4.2014. On 27.4.2014 the above said parcel has not been delivered to the consignee, upon which complainant visited the office of opposite party No.1 but he did not give any satisfactory reply. Complainant sent a legal notice dated 5.7.2014 upon the opposite parties. The acts of omission and commissions on the part of the opposite parties and glaring example of deficiency in service. The complainant has prayed that the opposite parties be directed to locate the parcel containing valuable medicines and to reimburse the cost of the medicines alongwith interest @ 18% per annum from 23.4.2014 till final realization and to pay compensation of Rs.25,000/- to the complainant on account of physical and mental harassment.
2. Despite service, opposite parties did not appear hence they were proceeded against exparte vide orders dated 16.12.2014 and 23.7.2015 respectively.
3. We have heard ld. counsel for the complainant at length.

Counsel for the complainant submitted that a period of more than one year and three months has passed, but the opposite parties did not deliver the parcel of medicine containing the medicine worth of Rs.10,370/-, to the addressee nor returned it to the complainant, despite notice dated 5.7.2014 annexure C-3 sent to the opposite parties vide postal receipt annexure C-4.
5. We have perusal the material on record. The complainant has placed the courier receipt dated 23.4.2014 annexure C-2 received for Rs.80/- for the booking of parcel by the opposite parties, bill issued in the name of consignee annexure C-1 and the copy of annexure C-3 with postal receipts. The opposite parties, despite notice of this complaint, did not bother to appear and contested the claim of the complainant before this District Forum. The evidence produced by the complainant in support of his pleadings goes un rebutted.
6. Resultantly, the complaint of the complainant succeed. We allow the complaint of the complainant and directed the opposite parties to pay Rs.10,370/- as cost of medicine Plus Rs.5,000/- as compensation for mental agony and harassment, to the complainant. This order be complied with by the opposite parties within 45 days, from the date of passing of this order, otherwise the opposite parties shall also be liable to pay interest @ 12% per annum on the aforesaid total amount from the date of order till payment. File be consigned to record room.
