ORDER

Both complaints are allowed as under against o.p. No.1 Opposite party No.1 is directed to allow interest at the rate of 11% p.a. on both deposits made by the complainants i.e. Rs.3,00,000/- each on 27.02.2001. The interest shall be payable with effect from 01.03.2001. The enire arrears of interest (less paid) upto 1-4-2003 that is Rs.9,000/- shall be paid to the each complainant on such date. The opposite party No.1 shall pay damages of Rs.1,100/- for the delayed payment of interest and such amount shall be paid on 1-4-2003. Opposite party No.1 shall pay cost of Rs.300/- to each complainant. If opposite party fails to pay the above mentioned amounts on 1-4-2003, the entire amount shall caryy further interest at the rate of 9.5% p.a. till the date of payment. Complaint is dismissed against opposite party No.2. If the opposite parties feel that awarding of such interest at the rate of 11% p.a. is not in the public interest, they are at liberty to send a letter to the complainants by RPAD, 15 days in advance, permitting them to withdraw the entire amount, with upto date interest, without deduction of 5% of the total amount as provided in the scheme.
