ORDER

By Smt. Padmini Sudheesh, President: Complainant was an inmate of the hostel conducted by respondent. She has joined on 24.6.07 by paying Rs.3000/-towards caution deposit and Rs.3000/- towards fees. It was assured by the respondent that at the time of discontinuance from the hostel caution deposit and the balance amount will be paid back. The accommodation and food in the hostel was not satisfactory and the complainant was forced to discontinue the study and stay in the hostel. She had stayed only for seven days. Hence she is entitled for the caution deposit and the balance amount of Rs.2300/-. Notice sent, but no reply and no remedy. Hence this complaint. 2. Respondent remained absent and set exparte. 3. To prove the case complainant has filed affidavit and four documents, which are marked as Exts. P1 to P4. 4. According to the complainant she is entitled to get Rs.2300/- and the caution deposit. She also claims cost and compensation. 5. There is no counter evidence. 6. In the result complaint is allowed and the respondent is directed to return Rs.2300/- (Rupees two thousand and three hundred only) and caution deposit of Rs.3000/- (Rupees three thousand only) to the petitioner and pay Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) towards compensation and R.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) as costs. Comply the order within one month. Dictated to the Confidential Assistant, transcribed by her, corrected by me and pronounced in the open Forum, this the 30th day of August 2008.
