The complainant’s case is as follows:

The complainant had taken gas connection through Punnayoor Panchayath Service Co-operative Bank. But the respondent charged exorbitant amount for gas cylinders and the complainant wished to disconnect the said connection. Respondent taken Rs.5750/- at the time of taking connection and intimated that at the time of disconnection they will return Rs.2500/-. This is not correct and the complainant entitled to get the entire amount paid by him. Hence this complaint.

            2. The respondent called absent and set exparte.

            3. To prove the case the complainant has filed affidavit and 2 documents which are marked as Exhibits P1 and P2.

            3. The case of complainant is that since there was increase in the price of gas cylinders she decided to disconnect the gas connection and wanted to refund of the amount paid by her. In the complaint she is stated that she decided to disconnect the connection after the increase in the price of cylinders. The date of connection is not given and it is unable to realize that how much time she enjoyed the connection. As per Exhibit P2 the respondent is admitted and agreed that they will return Rs.2500/- to the consumers those who are surrendering the connection. So the complainant is entitled to get this amount only.

In the result the complaint is partly allowed and the respondent is directed to pay Rs.2500/- (Rupees Two thousand and five hundred only) to the complainant with cost Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) within two months.
