Delay of 69 days in filing the Revision Petition is condoned. Complainant/petitioner, who is an agriculturist, applied for an electric connection for his motor pump-set. The respondents, on receipt of the application, demanded expenses of Rs.51,485/-. Petitioner applied to the respondents to give the details/break-up of the expenditure, which was not given by the respondent. Aggrieved by this, petitioner filed the complaint before the District Forum. District Forum allowed the complaint and directed the respondent to furnish the details of the estimate and to pay a sum of Rs.15,000/- by way of compensation and Rs.1,000/- as costs. Aggrieved against the order passed by the District Forum, respondents filed appeal before the State Commission. State Commission allowed the appeal holding that there was no deficiency in service on the part of the respondents. That the dispute raised by the petitioner was not a consumer dispute. We agree with the view taken by the State Commission. The dispute raised by the petitioner was not a consumer dispute under the Consumer Protection Act. Dismissed. |
