Junior Electrical Engineer, Electricity Board, Makhdumpur - Opp.Party(s)

26 Aug 2023

ORDER

Attendance on behalf of the complainant filed through his advocate. Present complaint has been filed against the OP for disconnecting his electric connection on 17.08.2023. On account of non-payment of demand of sum of Rs. 10,780 which according to him is quite impractical and illegal. It has been admitted by the learned advocate for the complainant that complainant is not a consumer rather he is son of the deceased consumer   Umesh Kumar who has already died and also that his nam has not been muted in the records of the OP. As such the complainant is not at all. Consumer within the definition of the consumer given in the consumer protection Act. As such there is no relationship of the consumer and the service provider between the complainant Ajeet Kumar and the OP. Hence this complaint being not entertainable and admissible even, Hence it is outrightly rejected.

However the complainant is directed to make efforts to the office of the OP to get his name  muted in the place of his father/or to apply for fresh connection. OP may reover the dues  amount against te deceased’s estate as law provision of Public Demand Recovery Act.
